One of the most important part of being a good brewer is to keep a good log of the brewing process. Since it can take up to 6 or more months until a beer is ready to drink, good brewing notes provide a record of what has been done to make a batch of beer. Good brewing notes will help in identifying problems in the process or recipe and will help you in recreating excellent beers.

Since so much of the final outcome depends on the process, brewing notes should not only be taken on the recipe, but also on the process (mashing, boiling fermentation) especially if something didn’t go as usual.

To ease the process of keeping lots of notes I created 4 pages for a brewing log book.
